Elusive Warrior made virtually all, clear over 2f out, ridden out
Sun Catcher always prominent, ridden to chase winner 3f out, stayed on
Dasheena dwelt, behind when switched left 5f out, stayed on approaching final furlong, not reach leaders
Playtotheaudience chased leaders, ridden over 2f out, edged right over 1f out, no extra final furlong
Zorn soon ridden along, chased leader 4f, stayed on same pace final 2f
Louisiade chased leaders, lost place over 5f out, never dangerous after
Solicitude chased leaders, ridden halfway, weakened over 1f out
Victor Trumper held up, ridden halfway, behind final 3f
Trainer Alan McCabe is also not ruling out an early return to the turf for Elusive Warrior, making the point that the horse had under-performed on the grass last time because he had been taken on for the lead, and not because he needs an artificial surface to be seen at his best.
Sun Catcher has done his winning at 6f, but he runs now as if in need of this longer trip and kept on well for pressure in the straight to run his best race to date for Pat Murphy, whom he joined this season.
Playtotheaudience won twice at Wolverhampton last month, but a rise of 8lb since his second win, combined with this switch to the Fibresand, found him out and he did not find a lot for pressure off the home turn.
Solicitude has not really gone on since winning at Wolverhampton in January and was beaten some way out.
