Simpsons Gamble prominent, chased leader over 2f out, led over 1f out, driven and held on near finish
Espartano held up in midfield, effort over 2f out, driven and not quicken over 1f out, stayed on well final furlong and gaining on winner finish
Duke Of Milan held up in last, coaxed along and progress on inner over 1f out, stayed on final furlong but not pace to reach leading pair
Lawdy Miss Clawdy led at strong pace, ridden and headed over 1f out, faded inside final furlong
Camissa welt, held up in last pair, angled to outer over 2f out, soon driven, kept on same pace
Prettilini chased leader to over 2f out, soon lost place and beaten
Exit Strategy badly bumped by rival soon after start, never beyond midfield, no progress over 1f out, faded
Regal Royale chased leaders, shaken up halfway, weakened over 1f out, eased
New York Prince went right start and collided with rival, raced wide, never on terms, struggling final 2f
SIMPSONS GAMBLE bounced back to winning ways under a positive ride, reversing last-time-out form with Duke Of Milan, and should be rated value for a touch further than the bare margin. He normally does his running at Kempton, but was clearly suited by going this way round and is a capable performer on his day in this class. However, his in-and-out profile dictates that he should be taken on again next time from a higher mark.
Espartano was the subject of a gamble on this return from Ireland and debut for his new connections. He ultimately got going too late and should come on for the run, but he has never been the most straightforward and is not one to overly trust.
Lawdy Miss Clawdy showed improved form for being ridden from the front over this trip, but did have very much the run of the race.
Camissa was another who took too long to find her full stride and ran below her recent level on this return to a higher grade.
