HESSIAN, who lost her chance in the stalls at Kempton last time out, got back to winning ways under a fine ride by Jamie Spencer. Patiently ridden early on, she was angled out with his effort at the top of the home straight and, despite helping her rider by hanging under pressure, eventually just did enough to get up. She had fallen to his last winning mark for this, so would not want to be going up too much, despite the fact she may just have a little more to offer for current connections.
High ’N Dry showed improved form on this return to her favoured venue and was not beaten at all far. She ideally wants another furlong, but still helps to set the level of this form.
Trivia came through to have her chance and posted by her best form for some time. She looks to be coming good again now and is on a fair mark.
Double Valentine, 1lb out of the handicap, ran her usual sort of race and never really looked like getting to the front.
