Rosy Dawn raced keenly, made all at moderate pace, drew 3 lengths clear 2 out, shaken up over 1f out, unchallenged
Herrbee held up in rear, ridden and effort on outer over 2f out, progress over 1f out, stayed on to take 2nd near finish
Lancaster Lad held up towards rear, progress well over 2f out, driven to chase winner over 1f out, no impression, lost 2nd near finish
Arabesque Dancer settled in midfield, pushed along as winner went clear 2f out, effort over 1f out, keeping on to challenge for place when no room and snatched up 50yds out
Cobbold Point started slowly, mostly in last pair, ridden over 3f out, modest late progress
Rubytwosox mostly chased winner, driven over 2f out, weakened over 1f out
Tilly Ann slowly into stride, always in rear, struggling 3f out
Alannah disputed 2nd to well over 1f out, weakened rapidly
Dome Blonde never beyond midfield with tail swirling furiously, weakened over 3f out
It saw the penalised ROSY DAWN bounce back to winning ways by making every yard under a well-judged ride. She had looked woefully out of sorts in her two previous outings thisterm, but the positive ride on this drop down in grade/trip obviously worked the oracle, and she did not need to be fully extended to do the job in the end. Her two wins have now come over course and distance, but no doubt she is somewhat flattered by having had very much the run of things out in front.
Herrbee, up in trip, again got going all too late in the day, yet certainly found the drop into this grade much more to his liking. He is worthy of another chance under these conditions.
Arabesque Dancer was best in at the weights according to official ratings and proved all the rage in the betting ring for this drop in trip and grade. However, she was simply not made enough use of this time, as she clearly lacks any sort of a change of pace. A more positive ride in this grade can see her get closer.
