OSCAR BAY, without the cheekpieces he wore when disappointing connections last time, returned to something like his best as he toughed it out to win in the fashion of an improving type. He could go to Perth for another of these later this month but his real future lies over fencesin the autumn.
Sovereign King had finished in front of the winner last time but had every chance here and maybe not that straightforward.
Loch Vic had his chance but may be better off in handicap company taking into account his mark.
