Analyis of the race

In common with other courses, the track had dried out considerably and the ground was described as being just on the dead side of good.

This novice hurdle appeared one-way traffic for IGNOTUS who only had to go down and come back. He did just thatwith the minimum of fuss as he never came off the bridle to win as he pleased and was value for more than the official distance. Connections reportedly have the Scottish Champion Hurdle at Ayr later this month on the agenda and, though that would be a much harder assignment, he is improving at a rate of knots.

That remark also applies to Raise TheHeights who had contested claimers on the flat but he actually gave the impression there might be a bit more to come as he was racing for the first time in almost six months.

Danger Zone is now eligible for a mark and look the type that his trainer can find a poor opportunity over the summer.
