They did not appear to go a breakneck gallop and the field bunched early in the straight, but the finish was dominated by those coming from off the pace. CAROLE'S LEGACY had looked promising in winning on her debut at Warwick four weeks previously and is clearly a very useful prospect, as she did this nicely, making ground from after halfway, leading a furlong out and holding on. She has the size to make a jumper and looks to have plenty of improvement in her.
Divali Princess made headway from two furlongs out and finished well but could not quite get to the winner - she was stepping up in class after winning at Taunton and this was a decent effort. So, too, was that of her stablemate Call Me A Legend, who led over two furlongs out but looked still to be green as she wandered slightly in front and was headed a furlong out. She is likely to improve again.
Argento Luna confirmed the promise of her Sandown run by keeping on for fifth, ahead of Over Sixty - Alan King's third runner in the first six home - who also kept on.
Romance Dance did best of those ridden closer to the pace and was ultimately not beaten far despite being ridden some way out - she is up to winning races. As is fellow maiden Calusa Crystal, who was in touch from the off, lost her place six furlongs out but rallied over four furlongs out and only weakened a furlong out.
Little Lu is a shade better than the bare form, as she was hampered over two furlongs out on this return from a break. Zarinava was given a patient ride but did not appear to get home, while Yonder may not quit have had the race-toughness for this test. [DC]
