Petito held up in rear, mistake 2nd, headway 7th, joined winner before 2 out, ridden entering straight, weakened 2 out
Archie Gunn took keen hold, held up in touch, headway 4th, chased leader after 7th, led after 3 out, soon headed and ridden, weakened before 2 out, hung left between last 2
Le Beau Bai led, ridden before 3 out, headed after 3 out, soon weakened
Caspar Of Tarsus always behind, lost touch 6th, tailed off from 3 out
Thegalleryman chased leader, mistake 5th, lost 2nd next, soon ridden and dropped out, tailed off when pulled up 2 out
Round The Horn took keen hold, held up in midfield, stumbled bend after 2nd, mistake 6th, soon struggling, tailed off when pulled up 2 out
Tapimix chased leaders until 4th, lost place and ridden after next, tailed off 6th until pulled up 3 out
Colonial Jim always behind, jumped slowly 3rd, lost touch after 5th, tailed off when hit 7th, pulled up after 3 out
Divers in touch, chased leading pair 6th, mistake and ridden next, soon beaten, jumped left 3 out, no chance when pulled up 2 out, lame
Glanworth held up towards rear, lost touch and ridden 7th, tailed off when pulled up 2 out
Henry Holmes towards rear, jumped slowly 3rd, dropped to rear and ridden 5th, tailed off when pulled up 3 out
QRACKERS was stepping in trip for the first time and the ploy worked to perfection as he came away up the straight to collect well. Obviously racing on the better ground on the outside helped as well but this represented an improved effort and he could have one more outing this season before going over fences in the autumn.
Archie Gunn is now looking thoroughly exposed.
Le Beau Bai, wearing blinkers for the first time, raced freely and did not get home. He is struggling to regain the form that saw him win two bumpers.
Divers was a major disappointment as he was beaten halfway down the far side as if something may have been amiss.
