THE OSTEOPATH had gone off the boil at the end of last season, but he had bounced back to his best when scoring on his reappearance at Redcar last month and readily defied his penalty, despite hanging on this slower ground, here. He could well complete the hat-trick.
Guilded Warrior, who had won first time out last season and is proven in the mud, ran an excellent race off top-weight and, though he has never won off as high a mark of 85, this run does suggest he has improved from four to five.
Fifty Cents won his maiden on fast ground last season and this slow surface would not have been ideal for him. In the circumstances, he did well to come through for third after being steadied early and switched across to the far side, and this lightly-raced sort should pay his way on better going this season.
Gilded Youth raced too freely on this first outing in over six months and could not sustain his challenge late on, but he is sure to be better for this outing and is another lightly-raced sort who should have improvement in him this year.
