Jazenio behind, ridden and headway over 3f out, chased leader 2f out, led inside final furlong, soon clear
Our Sunnie chased leader until led over 2f out, ridden and not run on 1f out, soon headed and beaten
One Called Alice slowly into stride, behind, ridden and headway 3f out, chased leading pair and hung right 2f out, weakened final furlong
Stoneacre Ma outpaced in midfield, never dangerous
Tilly Ann awkwards leaving stalls, always behind
Tenth Night led and soon clear, headed over 2f out, weakened quickly 2f out
Avian Flew chased leaders for 3f, soon struggling
JAZENIO had raced too keenly when well-beaten in a Pontefract maiden last month, but she benefited from the strong pace set by Tenth Night (who went off very fast in first-time blinkers) here. Although she was off the bridle and being pushed along after a furlong, she stayed on best of all up the hill to open her account at the seventh attempt.
Our Sunnie, who has been looking less than enthusiastic on the all-weather recently, again carried his head high and found little under pressure. On the credit side, he did still manage to reverse recent Southwell placings with One Called Alice, who did not help her chances by being slowly away and then hanging, and recent Wolverhampton placings with Stoneacre Ma, who could not reproduce the form she had shown in first-time blinkers last time.
