Five of these were making their racecourse debuts, so only time will tell what the form of ART CONNOISSEUR'S win amounts to. But he does look the part, and won despite hanging and showing clear signs of greenness, so he can be expected to improve markedly on this first effort. He was by some way the highest priced horse in the field, and has the pedigree to suggest he should do well. He also won despite reportedly being unhappy on the soft ground, so it will be disappointing if he does not go on to show better form on quicker going later in the spring.

Transcentral was the one member of the field with previous experience. She had run on late to be fourth at Warwick last month in a race which is already working out well. On this occasion she knew more of what was required and was quickly into her stride, but the uphill finish on softer ground found her out.
