Firespin held uo disputing 5th, ridden to chase leaders over 1f out, one pace final furlong

Honest Value disputed lead, led over 3f out until weakened inside final furlong

All In The Red chased leaders, not clear run on inside rail over 1f out, not recover

Joe Rich disputed lead over 1f, with leader until weakened over 1f out

Bonne behind, pushed along over 2f out, never dangerous

Moderate fare but truly run. Some horses can get a bad reputation when notching a sequence of placed efforts, but BEN has been, on the whole, genuinely unlucky. Badly drawn on his last two attempts here, he had the perfect pitch in stall five, and after tracking the leaders, made good headway in the final furlong to score in some degree of comfort. This will have no doubt done his confidence a power of good.

Walragnek has ability and is starting to realise it. He was slowly away, but came witha good run, though had it not been for a couple of hard-luck stories, he would have finished further back. He can win a little race on this evidence, however.

The other to take out of the race was All In The Red, who had little room when about to make hismove approaching the final furlong.
