Hazytoo took keen hold, tracked leader, challenged over 1f out, held head high and driven to lead just inside final furlong, driven out
Over To You Bert led, joined and ridden over 1f out, headed just inside final furlong, kept on same pace
Imperium dwelt, took keen hold, soon chasing leaders, ridden well over 1f out, kept on same pace
Metropolitan Chief pulled hard, chased leaders, ridden and not quicken over 1f out, kept on same pace
Mind Alert held up in midfield on inner, ridden and effort well over 1f out, never pace to challenge
Game Lady took keen hold, held up towards rear, ridden over 2f out, never near to challenge
Napoletano dropped in after start, pulled hard, held up in rear, headway on outer over 2f out, no headway from well over 1f out
Zazous took keen hold, held up in touch, headway 4f out, ridden and outpaced just over 2f out, no danger after
Stargazy took keen hold, held up in last, ridden and outpaced 2f out, no chance after
HAZYTOO landed a touch in making a winning seasonal reappearance after being gelded over the winter. He took time to subdue the free-running leader Over To You Bert to win his first race. He can only improve on the bare form as he still looked green when shown the front and won a shade cleverly. He is starting from a low point and looks the type to win more races before the handicapper catches up with him.
Over To You Bert might be nine but he was enthusiastic to post and through the race but did not cave in when pressed into the final furlong. His stable has done well with similar sorts over the years, although he has always looked just plating class before his good start to this year.
Zazous was another who ran far too keenly to give himself a chance in the finishand the race was not run to suit Napoletano, who likes to pick of strugglers late in a strongly-run affair.
