Apache Fort in touch, headway and ridden over 2f out, every chance well over 1f out, led inside final furlong, held on gamely
War Of The Roses held up in touch, headway to track leaders well over 1f out, ran on under pressure to challenge inside final furlong, no extra near finish
Bassinet took keen hold, held up behind, headway over 2f out, ridden over 1f out, ran on to go 3rd well inside final furlong, no impression last 50yds
Ross Moor chased leader 8f out, led going well over 2f out, ridden well over 1f out, headed inside final furlong, faded near finish
Wait For The Will held up in touch, ridden and effort well over 1f out, kept on final furlong but neverpace to challenge
Savannah chased leader for 4f, stayed handy until shuffled back and lost place just over 2f out, switched right and ridden over 1f out, plugged on but never pace to challenge
Kings Story led, ridden 5f out, headed over 2f out, weakened 2f out
My Mentor held up towards rear, headway 7f out, reminders over 4f out, ridden and weakened over 2f out, soon well behind
APACHE FORT, who sat prominent, was well suited by this as he has won over 10f and connections reported they would not worry about dropping him back in trip. It was still a grinding win after he loomed up around the home bend.
War Of The Roses continues to struggle manfully against the handicapper, who has edged him up in recent defeats, costing him his chance here as he only went down narrowly. As he stays further, this was another taking effort but again the handicapper will have the last say as another rise would take him out of this banding.
Wait For The Will was again not seen to best effect as he needs a strong pace and it was no surprise he was doing his best work up the last 2f without landing a blow and the handicapper is cutting this veteran no slack.
My Mentor, ridden along wide out into the last 4f, finished tailed off and has clearly not run his race.
