Jake The Snake held up in last pair, taken to outer and progress 2f out, still only 5th 1f out, pushed along and ran on well to lead last strides
Diriculous held up in midfield, progress to chase leader 2f out, closed gradually, ridden to lead inside final furlong, swamped near finish
Misaro fast away from wide draw, raced freely and led at strong pace, over 2 lengths clear 2f out, worn down inside final furlong
Hereford Boy off the pace in midfield, progress but hanging 2f out, chased leaders over 1f out, one pace
Cativo Cavallino chased leader to 2f out, faded over 1f out
Resplendent Alpha well in rear, checked slightly over 2f out, driven and kept on one pace from over 1f out, no danger
Impromptu pushed along in last pair before halfway, no danger, shuffled along and modest late progress
Minaash took keen hold in midfield, struggling and beaten just over 2f out
H Harrison chased leading trio to over 2f out, weakened
Love On Sight pulled hard, chased leading pair to over 2f out, weakened rapidly
Diriculous then looked certain to collect once in front but the long-absent JAKE THE SNAKE found another gear inside the final furlong to win going way. Backed in from an early 14-1, he has a lot of talent but is obviously very fragile, so it is impossible to know what will happen next with him. The trip was certainly on the short side, considering his previous two runs, and he should be better over further.
Hereford Boy ran well on his return to the track but is not really a 6f horse. Cativo Cavallino chased Misaro at a respectable distance in the early stages and was unable to keep up the gallop under pressure. He is not well handicapped at present.
Resplendent Alpha looks like a character under pressure and only decided to run on when it was too late.
Minaash, having his first run since November, did not show a great deal but is entitled to be straighter for the run.
