Toboggan Lady held up in midfield, steady headway halfway, chased winner over 2f out and soon ridden, driven entering final furlong, kept on
Hue held up and behind, headway 3f out, staying on when switched right over 1f out, ridden and edged left inside final furlong, finished well
Sand Repeal tracked leaders, headway halfway, ridden along to chase leading pair over 2f out, soon driven and kept on same pace approaching final furlong

Lady Pickpocket chased leaders, ridden along over 5f out and soon weakened
Toboggan Lady, who progressed nicely last season, winning three times, made an encouraging return to action, only finding the gritty and race-fit winner too strong when the chips were down.
Hue, who had the measure of Grizebeck at Redcar last week, was sent out under a penalty here, and under a 7lb claimer to try and overcome that extra burden. Held-up, just as he was at Redcar, he was left with plenty of ground to make up turning for home and although he came home best of all, and was eating up the first two towards the finish, the post was always coming too soon for him. He is in good form and can make amends for this defeat.
