This was just an ordinary race and GHAFEER, who was the pick of the weights, came good with a career first win in workmanlike style. He has had his wind done since last season and it seems to have done the trick.
Polish Priory, without the headgear she wore in her last four starts last season, ran a decent race here, meeting the winner on 11lb worse terms than in a handicap.
Whitcombe Flyer, a frustrating maiden, had no apparent excuses returned to turf.
