Magical Speedfit switched to race near side after 1f and settled in last, shaken up soon after halfway, got through 2f out, hard ridden to challenge over 1f out, not quicken
Midnite Blews raced on outer, close up, chance 2f out, weakened just over 1f out
Heroic Fool led to over 3f out, weakened rapidly just over 2f out, tailed off
Analyis of the race
A very weak maiden numerically, and while Magical Speedfit appeared to set a reasonable standard with a BHA mark of 74, he has not progressed since he was given his chance in last year's Windsor Castle Stakes.
NEVER CATCHER had been beaten a fair way on her reappearance at Warwick, but that gave her a useful fitness advantage, on top of which she was getting a handy weight allowance if one includes her rider's claim. She looked to have a race on her hands when the favourite began his challenge, but she dismissed him fairly readily and kept on strongly, her rider barely having to touch her. Her future lies in the hands of the Handicapper, and connections must hope he does not take the runner-up's effort too literally.
Midnite Blews got tired and should come on for the race, but he is fairly limited.
Newcomer Heroic Fool soon recovered from a slowish start but he was in trouble before the 2f marker.
