Doughnut tracked leaders, effort and got through against rail to challenge final furlong, driven and stayed on to lead on the nod
Riflessione pressed leader, driven to lead entering final furlong, headed on the nod last stride
Just The Lady led, headed and weakened entering final furlong
Raimond Ridge slowly into stride, soon in touch, effort on outer 2f out, weakened just over 1f out
Call Me Courageous started slowly, always last, no impression 2f out, weakened final furlong
There was not much to go on here, but a market move for newcomer DOUGHNUT in the morning (not reflected on course later on) proved spot on when the filly, Richard Hannon's first juvenile runner of the season, just prevailed over Brocklesby fifth Riflessione.
She tracked front-running Just The Lady upthe stands' rail, and when a narrow gap opened up just before the furlong pole she picked up pretty well, despite connections' reservations about running her in this ground. The Super Sprint at Newbury is the long-term target.
Just The Lady, representing the stable that won the Brocklesby, showed speed but weakened in the final furlong.
Raimond Ridge was not well away and had to be chased along through the early stages. He went well up to a point and will be all the better for the race.
Call Me Courageous was also slow into his stride, and he was never quite on terms.
