Analyis of the race
BAD BEAT was one of two horses in the race to have run before and, though he was well-beaten in the Brocklesby, the experience gained that day was possibly decisive in his victory here. He bounced out of the stalls, was always in command, racing up the quicker centre section of the track, and won tidily.
It remains to be seen what the form amounts to. Runner-up Dispol Mulofky was a cheap purchase and showed obvious signs of greenness, hanging left from the start, but he still proved good enough to take second from Count Almaviva.
Dancing Wave did not build on the modest promise of her debut fifth at Warwick and probably needs a stiffer test.
Handcuff - though he raced closest to the slower stands side rail - was still disappointing, never at any stage looking like getting into the argument.
