COPPERBOTTOMED was the clear form pick in this moderate claimer, even though his best trip is 7f, and he delivered readily enough, despite repeatedly swishing his tail in the closing stages. This was his third course win of the year and, kept to thisgrade, he should find more races.

One Called Alice, who has been running over longer distances this year, was easily outpointed by the winner, but would be interesting in a similar event over 7f-plus.

Her Name Is Rio, who hadbeaten Copperbottomed in a seller here in January, has failed to reproduce that form since and hung when asked for her effort (which did not amount to much) this time.
