CHANTACO showed improved form from his Taunton debut success to win comfortably. He has a rating of 116 which will be revised upwards by the handicapper at the first opportunity, but is definitely on the upgrade. With only a few weeks of the jumps season remaining, connections might consider switching his attentions back to the Flat as his trainer is a dab hand at placing horses like this under both codes and it would not be a great surprise to see him line up for one of the handicaps at Royal Ascot.
Abstract Art was officially 5lb better than the winner on a handicapping basis over hurdles. He appeared to run his race and the ground should have suited as he has won on heavy.
Poliglotti keeps on getting placed and just needs his sights lowering a shade before he gets his head in front.
Cornas caught the eye as he plugged on without ever getting competitive. He needs one more run for a mark as handicaps will be his game.
