The jockeys agreed that the ground was dead more than anything else. This turned out to be a nonsense of a race as they went no pace and some speed was only injected approaching the home bend, where only the front two had any chance of winning.

ISLAND FLYER had won last time in similar all-the-way fashion and being in front obviously suits him as he jumps pretty well. He is obviously unexposed as far as fences are concerned and there should be other races to come even though there is a slight question mark over the bare form taking into account that nothing took him on for the lead.

Wotashambles proved a flop considering he was second at the course last time and it is a watching brief with him at present.

So Wise So Young was outpaced when the pace lifted and was a spent force soon afterwards and he has yet to win a race.
