Quinte Du Chatelet chased leader until after 2nd, regained 2nd and left in lead when slightly hampered 4th, clear 6th, unchallenged
Sangfroid jumped slowly 1st and 2nd, soon well behind, left 2nd and headway after 4th, weakened approaching 6th, no chance when mistake 3 out
Arabellas Homer raced wide, led until fell 4th
I Predict A Riot chased leader after 2nd to 4th, soon pulled up lame, dead
Analyis of the race
No surprises that the ground was described as holding and very testing by the riders. This juvenile novices' hurdle lost nearly all of its interest after odds-on favourite I Predict A Riot broke down badly approaching the stands on the first circuit,and Arabellas Homer fell.
Following those incidents QUINTE DU CHATELET, a winner on the Flat in France on his only other start, only had to jump around, and he did so without much fuss. It will be interesting to see how he operates with a penalty as this was not exactly that informative.
