Marko Jadeo taken down early, dwelt, in touch in midfield, headway on inner well over 1f out, led 1f out, kept on well under pressure
Night Prospector chased leading pair, headway to challenge over 1f out, every chance until no extra towards finish
Camissa chased leader, ridden and every chance over 1f out, unable to quicken well inside final furlong
Desert Light towards rear, headway over 2f out, not much room 2f out, switched right over 1f out, edged left but ran on final furlong, not reach leaders
Monashee Brave led, ridden just over 2f out, headed 1f out, weakened final furlong
Punching took keen hold, held up in touch, headway to press leaders over 1f out, driven 1f out, found little, weakened last 100yds
Lawdy Miss Clawdy steadied start, took keen hold, held up in rear, ridden and effort on outer bend 2f out, never on terms
Mulberry Lad in touch, ridden and struggling over 2f out, no danger after
Macademy Royal restless stalls, awkward and slowly away, raced wide, always behind, lost touch over 2f out
Half a length behind him was stable mate Night Prospector. He is only a shadow of his former self nowadays, but he did at least perform here like he remembers how to win a race.
Camissa raced prominently throughout. She was still bang in contention late on but did not have the turn of pace at the business end.
The pacemaking Monashee Brave faded late on.
Punching, having his first start for new connections, had every chance. It was disappointing he could not get more competitive in this company. Punching's rider, George Baker, reported that the gelding ran too free.
Michael Wigham, the trainer of Macademy Royal, reported that the gelding lost a left front shoe.
