Grizebeck made all, ridden over 2f out, edged left over 1f out, stayed on
Haatmey chased winner, ridden and every chance over 2f out, edged left final furlong, stayed on, finished 3rd, promoted to 2nd
Ronsard slowly into stride, held up, headway 2f out, not clear run from over 1f out until ran on well near finish, not reach winner, finished 2nd disqualified and placed 3rd
Reminiscent held up, headway over 5f out, ridden and not clear run from over 1f out, no extra well towards finish
Piano Key chased leaders, ridden over 2f out, stayed on
Saint Eric slowly into stride, held up and behind, headway and hung left from over 1f out, not clear run inside final furlong, switched right, not reach leaders
Champagne Shadow held up, pushed along 5f out, ran on inside final furlong, never dangerous
Divine Love slowly into stride, soon chasing leaders, outpaced from over 2f out
Annapurna Sunrise prominent, ridden over 3f out, weakened over 1f out
Ronsard, an inconsistent sort who ran no sort of race last time, bounced back to the form which had seen him run second to Piano Key last month, taking advantage of a pull in the weights to reverse placings with that rival. He finished second, and would probably have won with a clear run in the straight, but was actually demoted to third after the stewards judged that his rider’s efforts in forcing his way through had improved his position relative to Haatmey.
Reminiscent, like Ronsard, met trouble in running in the straight and is another whocould be ready to strike.
Kylie Manser reported that Saint Eric was slowly away, hung left and was denied a clear run. However, the stewards judged that she had not taken all permissible measures to obtain the best possible placing and suspended her for 10 days.
