Saviour Sand took keen hold, made all, found extra when challenged inside final furlong
Kildare Sun in touch, headway over 3f out, went 2nd over 1f out before challenged inside final furlong, held near finish
Watchmaker tracked winner, ridden 3f out, lost 2nd over 1f out, kept on one pace final furlong
Given A Choice slowly in rear, ridden over 3f out, headway over 1f out, ran on final furlong, never nearer
Morbick mid-division, slightly hampered 3f out, never on terms
Final Tune tracked leaders, ridden over 2f out, weakened over 1f out
Mac Don mid-division, reminders 4f out, never near to challenge
Timber Treasure took keen hold, in rear when ridden 3f out, eased when beaten entering final furlong
Kildare Sun, bidding to follow up his win here a week ago, ran right up to recent form under his 6lb penalty but could not summon up the speed to reel in the winner.
Watchmaker, who had won a weaker race at Kempton in January, ran creditably under a positive ride. Given A Choice, who has been running well in claimers recently (won over 1m3f last month) was racing off a 6lb lower mark than when last seen in a handicap in January but was not able to take advantage in a race where the pace was not as strong as he would have liked.
Adam Kirby reported that Final Tune had hung left.
