Desert Hunter held up, ridden 2f out, ran on final furlong, never near to challenge

Calloff TheSearch was not favoured by the draw but overcame that obstacle to look the likely winner early in the straight, but he had no answer to the winner's late surge.
The Geester, who had made all at Southwell last time, was always struggling to get competitive here after a tardy start, and in the circumstances did well to come through for third under his penalty, especially as he had to come wide to deliver his challenge.
