Magic Sky, a former stablemate of the winner, also looked to be weighted up to his best but would surely have won as he lost many lengths and his rider shed his irons after the pair got the last fence all wrong. Given that he lost more ground than hewas eventually beaten he must be counted an unlucky loser. However the handicapper may well bang him up a few pounds for this and that will not help his cause.
Charlton Kings did himself no favours with a cumbersome jump out of Swinley Bottom which cost him ground which he could never gain back. Pablo Du Charmil had things work out for him at Exeter last time but a rise in the weights and no soft lead did for him. He had a fairly hard race that day and may need a bit more time to recover.
