St Petersburg well in rear, ridden over 3f out, eased to outer over 2f out, driven and stayed on, nearest finish
Vainglory tracked leaders, ridden well over 2f out, outpaced well over 1f out, plugged on
Orchard Supreme tracked leaders, upsides going strongly just over 2f out, chased winner after, weakened inside final furlong, eased
Tudor Prince prominent, challenged and upsides over 2f out, weakened over 1f out
Titan Triumph close up until weakened under pressure from 2f out
Shabahar awkward start, well in rear, no chance from 2f out, plugged on final furlong
Grizedale never a factor, no chance over 2f out, passed weakening rivals final furlong
Blue Java nodded start, soon chased leaders, weakened well over 1f out
Kingsholm pressed leader, led 5f out to just over 2f out, weakened
Indian Edge dwelt, always well in rear, struggling in last trio 3f out
Namid Reprobate always well in rear, under pressure and no progress over 3f out
Archiestown ridden in rear after 2f, always struggling
Bajan Pride led to 5f out, weakened rapidly 3f out, eased, tailed off
Danski raced on outer in midfield, ridden over 3f out, soon weakened, virtually pulled up over 1f out
DON'T PANIC ran out a wide-margin winner under Kerrin McEvoy, who plotted a course wide of the rest up the centre of the track. However, whatever course he might have taken would probably have resulted in victory, as the winner was well on top entering the final furlong and duly followed up his his September course and distance success. A mile seems to suit Don't Panic better than seven furlongs, and he is versatile with regards the ground, but he could be in trouble if the handicapper assesses what happened here literally.
Crocodile Bay got back into the winner's enclosure at Newcastle earlier in the month and, despite racing off a 7lb higher mark here, clearly had a big chance. He was brought towards the stands' side and saw no daylight at a crucial stage but, in truth, was beaten fair and square.
The relatively lightly raced Vainglory ran a decent race, as did the top weight Orchard Supreme, but he would surely have been better suited by quicker underfoot conditions.
Tudor Prince ran okay on his first start for a new stable, finishing a long way clear of Archiestown and everything else, including recent winners Blue Java and Namid Reprobate, who both flopped.
