This novice stakes lost a bit of its interest following the withdrawal of Austintatious but the time was pretty good, as it was not far off the RacingPost standard.
MEERKAT seemed better suited to this fast surface than the good to soft he was beaten on last time. He already has a mark of 79, but that looks slightly on the lenient side if this form is taken at face value, as the runner-up is rated 92 and he was only conceding 7lbs. The winner is the type for handicaps next term, where he should get a bit further.
Green Wadi is now eligible for a mark and his future will depend on how the handicapper reacts to the front two.
Joinedupwriting gave the impression he did not see out the mile and Black Jacari was too keen for his own good and paid the penalty.
