TROUBADOR had shown enough form to be involved in the shake-up in a race like this both with Aidan O'Brien and in Hong Kong although he hasbeen disappointing for his latest connections. He did however illustrate that he still retains his old ability as he weaved his way through the field in the home straight, wearing down Jalil near the line. He looks to be a different proposition on an artificial surface and could well add to this tally over the winter.
Jalil was always going to have plenty to prove given his sky high price tag as a yearling. There is no getting away from it, he has been a disappointment. He threw away his chance ofwinning this handicap off of a mark of 87 when hanging late on.
**Richard Quinn, the rider of Bomber Command, reported that the gelding lost his action.
**Micky Fenton, the rider of Samarinda, reported that the gelding ran flat.
**Kevin Ghunowa, the rider of Basra, reported that the gelding was denied a clear run.
