LINDA'S COLIN, a selling winner early this year, has been easing in rating and got into this band for the first time since. A drop back in trip as well aided the cause as he ground out a game win, but a rise will put him back at a level at which he has not looked like winning.
Grand Lucre played up badly, refusing to let her rider mount until the start. She was very slowly away and after making a strong move down the wide outside early in the straight, she looked content to usher the winner home despite drawing clear of the rest. She is one to treat with caution.
Nothing else threatened with Metropolitan Chief disappointing again after a good win at Wolverhampton last time at this level. He got a relatively easy lead from a poor draw but - another to hug the inside rail - he looked to be treading water in the final furlong. Perhaps he needs to go left-handed.
