Winter Lane always towards rear
The favourite made hard work of it, but he appreciated the trip and gradually wore down his only serious rival, Heavenward, in the final furlong.
Envisage will presumably improve a bit for the experience, but it is hard to envisage him taking high rank among his powerful yard's pecking order.
Heavenward is likely to do even better now that he is qualified for handicaps, and this was his best performance.
Garafena was certainly the pick on form, and there were no fitness worries, but the ground was an unknown. She rather floundered in it, but is consistent and has the ability to land a maiden or handicap.
Grafty Green took fairly well to turf, while Lady Killer Queen finished sixth for the second time in two starts.
Djalalabad had run her best race to date 15 days earlier, when runner-up in a lowly Brighton handicap over this trip, but pulling hard early did her no favours, the effort taking its toll over the final 2f.
**John Egan, the rider of Djalalabad, reported that the filly had no more to give.
