BLUE JACK, a half-brother to the quirky but talented Just James, was one of only two making his debut, but he showed up early and picked up well to win in good style.
He was his stable's first juvenile first-time-out winner of the season (16th runner), which augurs well, although it needs to be underlined that this wasn't a strong maiden.
Faber Hall Flyer has now run a few reasonable races, and he ran on well.
Casla Beag filled the same position she had on her debut.
Mayaar owed her market-leading position to her trainer as much as to herform, and was never much better than her finishing place.
**Ryan Moore, the rider of Mayaar, reported that the filly hit its head on the starting gates.
