Hatch A Plan took keen hold, held up in midfield, headway 3f out, ridden and every chance of 2nd over 1f out, one pace

Ruse took keen hold, held up towards rear, ridden well over 2f out, plugged on final furlong, not pace to trouble leaders

Hatton Flight took keen hold, held up in midfield, driven and outpaced well over 2f out, kept on under pressure final furlong

Safari Sundowner held up in rear, effort and not clear run well over 2f out, ridden and headway 2f out, no headway 1f out

Jago took keen hold, chased leaders, ridden over 2f out, weakened 2f out

Royal Premier chased leader after 2f, joined leader 7f out, ridden 3f out, bumped 2f out, weakened over 1f out, eased final furlong

Amwell Brave held up in rear, pulled out and ridden well over 2f out, no headway

Royal Shakespeare slowly into stride, took keen hold, held up towards rear, headway on outer over 3f out, ridden and beaten 3f out

Doyles Lodge led after 1f, ridden and headed over 2f out, soon weakened and eased

A routine handicap which offered a good opportunity to last week's runaway Brighton winner SPIRIT OF ADJISA, who was still 4lb well in with his penalty. Sent on 2f out, he was soon clear and still had an advantage of at least 3l going into the final furlong. However, he was coming back to them fast in the last 50 yards, and the line came only just in time. He is clearly thriving and might be better held up a bit longer, so further success off his revised mark cannot be ruled out.

Bridgewater Boys had been off the track more than seven weeks since winning a Windsor seller for Kevin Ryan. He was being rowed along towards the rear when they turned for home, but kept responding and was closing fast at the finish. Although not an obvious type for Gary Moore to improve, he will not be going backwards either and is sure to be placed to advantage.

Constant Cheers was keen, racing close behind the leaders. He had every chance when the winner kicked clear.Mae Cigan had raced in mid-division, but was also in the group fighting for the places when the winner started to pull away.
