Emma Jean Lad in touch, ridden and headway over 2f out, led 1f out, driven and held on well final furlong
Ganache took keen hold, chased leader, ridden to lead 2f out, headed 1f out, rallied under pressure, held last 100yds
Hills Place took keen hold, chased leaders for 1f, soon steadied into midfield, driven and effort 2f out, stayed on to go 3rd last 100yds
Raise Again chased leaders, ridden over 2f out, kept on same pace, lost 3rd last 100yds
Vintage pulled hard, tracked leaders, ridden and effort over 2f out, kept on same pace
Machinate behind, ridden over 3f out, stayed on under pressure over 1f out, never able to challenge
The Slider in touch, driven over 3f out, never pace to trouble leaders after
Grey Gurkha ran without declared tongue strap, took keen hold, soon led, headed 2f out, weakened quickly 1f out
Lordswood behind, ridden and effort on inner over 2f out, never dangerous
Torver slowly into stride, always behind, ridden and little response over 2f out
Fervent in touch in midfield, ridden and weakened well over 2f out
Call Me Rosy badly hampered soon after start, always behind
Pearl Farm in touch on inner, ridden and effort over 2f out, found nil and soon beaten
The winner was not scoring out of turn, while Ganache deserves some credit, too, and might be interesting if dropped into a weak handicap before he is reassessed.
Hills Place, off the track since failing to stay 1m2f at Brighton way back in April, was doing good work at the finish and might have possibilities in similarly weak company over this distance or a little further.
Raise Again, who had been up there all of the way, just shaded fourth aheadof recent winner Vintage, who was beaten by pulling too hard as much as by the penalty he had to carry.
Jean Pierre Guillambert reported that Grey Gurkha had a breathing problem.
