Dropped back to 6f after finishing only fourth when fancied for a Lingfield nursery on his handicapdebut, the winner was held up near the back in a race in which the leaders appeared to go pretty quick, and although he was being shoved along a fair way out, he was responding. Gradually angled out to see daylight on the outside, he came with a stormingrun which took him to the front around half a furlong from home and was soon clear. He was going away and can win again.
Southwest Star went off favourite on the strength of his recent second over 7f here. He ran into an unexposed rival that day,and he was unlucky enough to run into another here. He finished clear of the rest in second and can win a similar race.
Richardthesecond had been below form on his all-weather debut, but he could be fancied on his turf form and ran respectably, too.
Alabama Spirit came from a long way back for fifth, having been dropped in at the back from her outside draw, while Valhillen, due to go up 1lb at the weekend after a good run last time, raced close enough but was just one paced up the straight.
Sandy Par made the running on his all-weather debut, but he was headed with more than a furlong to go.
