Tomintoul Flyer tracked leader, ridden when hampered over 1f out, hung right and stayed on to lead well inside final furlong
Palmerin led, hard ridden and hung left over 1f out, headed well inside final furlong
Judgethemoment chased leaders, ridden over 2f out, stayed on same pace approaching final furlong
Flying Time held up in touch, ridden over 2f out, edged right and weakened over 1f out
Amouretta started slowly, unseated rider soon after start
The principals came close together in the final furlong, with the winner hampering the second, but thestewards decided any interference was accidental and had not affected the result.
Mike Marshall, assistant to Tomintoul Flyer's trainer Henry Cecil said: "He's a backward horse and the slow pace didn't help, although he's done it well in the end. He'll be a better horse next year."
Judgethemoment looked sure to appreciate the extra yardage, but at the business end was only a bit player.
Flying Time also failed to make any impression as the third and fourth raced on the far side and possibly did not get the best of the ground.
