Desert Thistle waited with in rear, shaken up and progress against near side rail 2f out, sustained effort to lead last 75yds, won going away
Glittering Prize led, shaken up 2f out, headed and no extra last 75yds
Street Devil dwelt, held up in rear, smooth progress on outer 3f out, ridden over 1f out, one pace after
Compton Ridge prominent, chased leader 2f out to 1f out, weakened
Spiritonthemount started slowly, very green and soon tailed off, progress on wide outside from 3f out, kept on, no danger, better for experience
Muharjam settled in rear, outpaced 2f out, pushed along on outer and kept on final furlong
My Flame mostly chased leader to 2f out, hanging left and weakened
Romford Car Two close up against near side rail, reminder after 3f, weakened well over 1f out
Redarsene in touch, shaken up and no progress 2f out, weakened soon after
Jermajesty in touch on outer, weakened rapidly and floundering over 1f out
Ryan´s Rock dwelt, in touch until weakened over 2f out, soon behind
A modest collection on looks and, surprisingly, they all stayed stands' side after the events of the last meeting when the inside rail proved much quicker.
DESERT THISTLE had shown little in two previous runs on quicker ground but, hugging the stands; rail, he produced a strong late burst to foil Glittering Prize, who had set out to make all and, despite wanting to hang right, looked an assured winner into the final furlong.
Street Devil made a promising debut against more experienced rivals and on ground not certain to suit on his breeding.
Muharjam showed just a bit more than on his debut, keeping on when it was all over, while Spiritonthemount was too green to do himself justice. He is not overbig and after starting slowly failed to initially respond to strong driving. Kept widest midtrack, he did make ground inside the last 2f to show he has ability.
