Pan The Man tracked leaders, progress after 10th, went 2nd 3 out, led next, hard ridden and 3 lengths clear after last, tired but held on

Acertack led to 9th, lost place from next, 5th and looked well beaten before 2 out, rallied last, closed on winner flat

Salinas tracked leader, led 9th, ridden and headed 2 out, no extra

Master T held up in rear, close enough and going well after 10th, ridden and found nil after 3 out, beaten when hampered last

Romney Marsh prominent, jumped right 8th, jumped badly right next and lost touch, never reached leaders after

Up The Boreen in touch, went 2nd 10th until blundered 3 out, rallied and jumped right 2 out, about 2 lengths 2nd when crashing fall last

Nobel Bleu De Kerpaul never going well, reminder after 4th, blundered next, weakened under pressure 8th, pulled up after next

Another exciting finish, which culminated in triumph for PAN THE MAN. Sent to the front at the second last fence, he seemed set for an authoritative win once Up The Boreen fell at the final obstacle, but he idled badly on the flat and might have beenin trouble given a few additional yards. A course and distance winner last month, he defied successfully the 8lb rise he received for that win, but he could be in trouble if the handicapper puts him by a similar amount for this success.

Acertack finished second in this last year and he finished second in it this year. After dropping out mid-race in his usual fashion, he finished with splendid gusto, but he has a poor wins to runs record and needs all the help he can get.
