Trojan Flight chased leaders, headway 2f out, ridden over 1f out, stayed on to lead last 100yds
Choysia led, ridden well over 1f out, driven inside final furlong, headed and no extra last 100yds
Ellens Academy dwelt and towards rear, headway halfway, not clear run on rails over 1f out, switched left and ridden entering final furlong, kept on
Norcroft close up, ridden well over 1f out, driven and weakened entering final furlong
Cape Presto prominent, ridden along 2f out, driven and one pace approaching final furlong
Ocean Gift steadied start, held up towards rear, headway over 2f out, soon ridden and no impression approaching final furlong
Soto raced wide, always in midfield
Charles Parnell slowly into stride, always in rear
Toy Top chased leaders, ridden along over 2f out, soon weakened
Paris Bell slowly into stride, always towards rear
Silidan chased leaders to halfway, soon weakened
Choysia showed good pace again and appeared to have her race won inside the last, but was just run out of it in the end. She had decent form as a two-year-old and, though not hitting the high spots last season, she was clear of the third and did quite enough here in cheekpieces forthe first time to suggest there is a little handicap in her.
Ellens Academy did not have the best of runs by any stretch, but he did not pick up as might have been expected when seeing daylight. However, he is reasonably handicapped now and his turn should come again despite his advancing years.
Cape Presto, a stable companion of the latter, also showed speed, though he did not wear a visor which had appeared to help his cause. He has won at Yarmouth and could be interesting with that bit of headgear back on.
Ocean Gift had the worst of the draw and did not get in a winning blow, but he is doing enough to suggest this twice a winner for David Elsworth as a three-year-old may be on the way back.
