MUSICAL BEAT, who had been placed in maidens on the AW, and in similar company at Newcastle last weekend, scored readily on her handicap debut, coming throughto lead over a furlong out and running on in good style. She clearly acts well on this quick ground.
Grand Symphony making her turf and handicap debut, ran creditably in second and she should be able to find a similar event.
Coconut Queen, unlike the three who finished in front of her, was having her first run of the season, and ran a fair enough race, making the running but fading in the closing stages.
Empress Olga met a bit of trouble but didn't appear as though she relished this fast ground and Smugglers Bay faded after racing close up.
