Thunder Bay in touch, smooth headway halfway, led well over 1f out, pushed clear inside final furlong, comfortably
Geordie Girl in rear, headway halfway, switched left and effort to chase winner over 1f out, soon ridden and no impression
Mystickhill close up, every chance 2f out, soon ridden and kept on same pace approaching final furlong
Northgate Lodge close up, led after 1f, ridden along 2f out, soon headed and gradually weakened
Bank On Bertie led 1f, close up until ridden and weakened final 2f
Rievaulx Valentino closed up, ridden along over 2f out and soon weakened
Northgate Lodge was behind the winner at Newcastle, and never looked likely to reverse the form, and although the newcomer Rievaulx Valentino was the subject of some market support, he ran disappointingly, dropping right away in the last 2f to finish last.
