Only Vintage held up, headway 5th, chased leader 8th, led approaching 3 out, ridden out
Caribou led, jumped right, mistake 3rd, headed approaching 3 out, soon beaten
Marsh Run chased leaders, ridden approaching 3 out, soon weakened
Roobihoo chased leaders to 9th
Park Quest held up, blundered 3 out, always behind
Winnie Wild chased leaders, lost place 5th, behind from 8th, tailed off when pulled up before 3 out
Fourboystoy held up, mistake 7th, lost touch next, tailed off when pulled up before 5 out
ONLY VINTAGE had the best hurdling form in the line-up, for all that he may not have gone on quite as expected in 2005-6, and he showed the benefit of his return from an eight-month break by stepping up on the form of that chasing debut, leading before 3 out and scoring well. He will face stiffer challenges than this over fences, but looks to be going the right way in his new career.
The only other one in hailing distance from a long way out was Marsh Run, who at least completed the course this time.
Roobihoo was left behind from 6 out but may have found the ground too soft.
