Karathaena always prominent, led 2 out, soon clear
Le Millenaire chased leaders, led approaching 2 out, soon headed, stayed on same pace
Suprendre Espere chased leader, ridden after 3 out, stayed on same pace, hit last
Optimum held up, headway 7th, ridden after next, staying on same pace when mistake 2 out
Ever Special led, headed approaching 2 out, weakened before last
Vigoureux chased leaders, hit 3 out, soon ridden and weakened
Young Cuthbert held up, weakened 7th
Top Style held up, ridden approaching 6th, soon weakened
Sheer Guts held up, weakened 7th
She was reckoned to have been unsuited by the ground when disappointing on her previous start, but she had looked fairly exposed and not blindingly well handicapped, so the fact that she could win as she did suggests this was not a great race.
Optimum is plenty high enough in the handicap now, while stablemate Ever Special's winning spree had come in modest company, and he may also have found this race coming too soon. For whatever reason, he was comfortably held afterleading to 2 out here.
