Copper Bay chased leaders, left in lead 7th, left clear 3 out, jumped left next, headed flat, stayed on under pressure to lead final 50yds
Digital Fortress held up, headway and hampered 7th, lost place when left 2nd 3 out, rallied to lead flat, headed final 50yds
Nimby Run chased leader until led 3rd, blundered and unseated rider 7th
Lordington Lad jumped left, led to 3rd, left 2nd 7th, 2 lengths down when fell 3 out
Glitter Ice held up, hampered 7th, headway to go close 3rd when brought down 3 out
COPPER BAY appears to be progressing and he finally got off the mark, despite having looked in trouble when Digital Fortress came to take over after the last. To his credit, Copper Bay rallied up the run-in to get back up. There should be more to come from him as he is only a four-year-old. He reported that the gelding had breathing problems earlier in his career but he is gaining confidence with each run.
Digital Fortress was taking a significant drop in trip for his debut over fences but he shaped with promise, jumping fluently in the main and making a race of it with the winner. Only lightly raced, he looks like the type to do better over fences.
Nimby Run was still travelling ok when unseating his rider at the seventh.
