Ever Special made all, clear 4th to 7th, ridden clear again 2 out
Vicario chased winner until after 7th, soon ridden, hung right and went 2nd again after 2 out, no impression
Berengario chased leaders, ridden after 7th, weakened next
Longueville Manor held up, headway 7th, weakened after 3 out
Elegant Clutter held up in touch, chased winner after 7th, weakened 2 out, blundered last
Sistema pulled hard and prominent, ridden and weakened after 7th
Kilgowan held up, jumped slowly 5th, behind from next, tailed off when pulled up before 2 out
Mars Rock chased leaders, mistake 2nd, ridden and weakened after 7th, tailed off when pulled up before 2 out
Vicario, who is rated slightly higher over hurdles than fences, stayed on to finish a clear second under conditions that suited him, but he never looked like reeling in the winner. This wasn’t a bad effort given his yard are going through such a lean spell.
Longueville Manor looks one to steer right away from for he found absolutely nothing when coming under pressure.
Elegant Clutter was the one to go in pursuit of the winner turning for home but he didn’t see out this test. He was tired at the last, where he made a mistake and eased by his jockey afterwards.
