Analyis of the race

A 71-85 handicap, but not a particularly strong event, and in addition, the pace was ordinary so the form may not prove reliable.

VERY WISE is a lightly raced four-year-old, and was reappearing after a break since July, but ridden from off the slow pace, he got up in the last few strides to win driven out. He'll be kept going on the all-weather, and as he may prove better than this, and shouldn't go up much for this narrow success, he should be worth following.

Gifted Gamble had every chance, challenging the leader from the home turn but not looking that straightforward.

Jimmy The Guesser challenged wide comingoff the bend, but though not disgraced, he might prove better at shorter.
