Guadiana took keen hold, held up in rear, effort 3f out, hanging badly and sharp reminders, progress 2f out, forced ahead under pressure last 75yds
Captivate dwelt, held up well in rear, ridden over 3f out, progress from over 2f out, stayed on to take 2nd last stride
Lady Suffragette took keen hold, prominent, effort to lead over 2f out, hard pressed from over 1f out, headed last 75yds
Sahf London took keen hold, prominent, effort and close up 2f out, ridden and kept on after, always just held
Diafa soon prominent, ridden to challenge over 2f out, one pace from over 1f out
River Beau took keen hold, pressed leader, led over 4f out to over 2f out, faded final furlong
Monte Major dwelt, held up in rear, progress over 2f out to chase leaders over 1f out, not quicken and no headway after
Larad took keen hold, held up in midfield, effort 3f out, bumped along and no progress final 2f
Big Smoke held up well in rear, shuffled along over 2f out, no real progress
Queen Of Diamonds held up towards rear, some progress on inner over 2f out, urged along and weakened final furlong
Opera Knight took keen hold, prominent, weakened under pressure well over 1f out
Sahara Sun restrained start, held up well in rear, progress on outer to press leaders halfway, weakened well over 1f out
Owners Biscuits made most to over 4f out, weakened rapidly 3f out
Muqtadi reluctant to race then pulled hard, held up in last, weakened rapidly over 3f out, tailed off
However, one had to feel some sympathy for Lady Suffragette, who was given a smashing ride and, having hit the front early in the straight, beat off all-comers, only to be swallowed up in the dying strides.
Captivate mightnot be that reliable, but you could not fault the way he fought on up the straight.
This was Diafa's best run yet, while the ex-Irish River Beau showed promise for his new stable.
However, the well-backed Opera Knight, a stablemate of the winner, looked woefully one paced up the straight.
